DHW Fitness believes that if we give our clients the right tools, support and guidance they can achieve their highest potential! 

We educate our clients about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and teach them how to make lifestyle changes that they can maintain well after they are no longer our clients. 

We provide a caring and supportive environment that will enables our clients to achieve all of their health, nutrition and fitness goals.

We have studied all the major dietary theories and use practical lifestyle coaching methods to guide you in discovering which approach works best for you.

Most approaches to nutrition dwell on calories, carbs, fats, proteins. Instead of creating lists of restrictions and good and bad foods, we coach our clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and free of denial and discipline. No one diet works for everyone.

We will guide you to find the right foods, lifestyle and fitness choices that best support you. 

DHW will also assist you to make gradual, lifelong changes that enable you to reach your current and future health goals.

Meet DHW Fitness' lead coach/owner:

Shantea Johnson, MS, MPH, CHES, CHC, CPT



As Fitness competitor and competitive athlete, Shantea Johnson, did not follow a typical path to glory, in fact, this wife and mother of three, did not begin competing until age 37. Shantea was introduced by a friend to the world of fitness competition in 2012; and although she had been very active in helping others achieve their fitness goals, Shantea had never competed herself. At that time, this personal trainer and health educator, decided to walk the walk and do what she had been teaching others.


It was this resolution to improve her body and lose weight that brought out her competitive streak. In addition to her full-time career, and caring for her family, Shantea began her successful fitness journey in late 2012. Since beginning her competition journey, Shantea has consistently placed in the top five in each event she has competed in. In addition to being a competitive athlete, Shantea is also a successful fitness model and holds 2 Masters Degrees. Shantea's has a Masters Degree in Public Health and a 2nd Masters Degree in Nutrition minoring in both: Obesity and Eating disorders and Fitness and Sports Nutrition.

Shantea and her family live a fit life - she and her husband have instilled an important sense of healthy eating and active lifestyles in their three children. Meal times are a collaborative effort, from the grocery shopping to food preparation, and the entire family is in on the action. In fact, this passion for health and wellness, has inspired Shantea and her husband to found DHW Fitness to help others reap the benefits of proper nutrition and a high level of fitness.





About DHW Fitness


DHW is the culmination of Shantea's education, in Public Health, Nutrition studies, fitness education and fitness competition experience. Together with her husband and the DHW Fitness team; DHW Fitness works with individuals to deliver results. Shantea draws upon her knowledge and the well rounded knowledge of her team, to create a “roadmap to health” for all DHW Fitness' clients. The roadmap is tailored to the individual and the unique goals of each and every client that suits their body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.

Shantea is living proof that her system works, and her strong level of professionalism shines through all that she does. In addition to individual fitness programs, every client receives nutrition education and coaching. Services include, but are not limited to, health coaching & consulting, assistance with menu planning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation. At DHW Fitness, wellness, health improvement and nutrition are just as important as obtaining a competitive level physique. DHW believes that taking care of the inside of the body is just as important as physical training.

DHW Fitness is currently meeting with potential clients, and through an initial consultation, determines how to best meet the varied health and fitness goals of all that seek their help.
